HOWDY!
I hope everyone had a great new years! I am enjoying a really great creative time. Churning out new songs and some fun gigs are starting to come in. I'll be teaching at The River of The West Mandolin camp in June alongside virtuosos Don Steirnburg, Radim Zenkl and others. And I'm arranging and playing some sweet traditional Irish stuff with Colleen Raney (Joined by wooden flute master Hanz Araki and Casey Neill). working up 2 trios: One to showcase my songs in the country and soul spirit of Nick Lowe,Tom Waits and The Band. And another to work my growing chops in the crazy fun syncopated cafe music of Brazilian choro! Wow. That was a mouthful!

THE REMEDY SESSIONS (2009) is Zak's latest solo CD. After playing on dozens of other people's records in the last few years, Zak has put together a collection of 10 demo tracks and out takes ranging from instrumentals with his modern string band 'The Lizzies'. to sparse n' spooky country ballads to previously unreleased tracks from a project produced by the late great fiddler Johnny Cunningham.
